            Know all men by these Presents, that I Thos. C. Reeves of Kershaw County in the State aforesaid for and in consideration if the sum of Seven Hundred (700) Dollars to me in hand paid at and before the Sealing of these Presents by Jno. R Faile. (The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) have granted, bargained, sold, and released and by these presents do grant, bargain, seel and release unto the said Jno. R. Faile, all that contain piece, parcel or tract of land - containing one hundred and eight (108) acres Situate and lying near the waters of Little Lynches Creek. In Pleasant Hill Township in the State and County aforesaid and bounded as follows. To ____. On the North by lands owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis and others, East by lands of James Horton South by Lewis M. Horton, West by a tract of land partitioned to Henry J. Gardner as one of the heirs of the late Jas. B Reeves. And being the same tract of land being partitioned to me as one of the heirs of James B. Reeves deceased.

            Together with all and Singular the Rights, Members, hereditaments and Appurtenances to the said Premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining.

            To have and to hold all and Singular the said Premises before mentioned, unto the said Jno. R. Faile his heirs and Assigns against me and my heirs, and every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

            Witness my Hand and Seal this the 18th day of October A. D. 1897 in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven and in the hundred and ---- year of the Sovereignty and independence of the United States of America.
