Funeral services for Joseph Cull Richardson, 78, retired farmer of the Roughedge section, were scheduled to be held Thursday at 11 a. m. in Turner Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. C. H. McLain, Rev. W. B. Neal and Rev. James E. Bryant.
Mr. Richardson died at Union Memorial Hospital at 1:15 Tuesday afternoon following a sudden illness. He was the son of the late Cul and Jane Richardson of Union county. He was a charter member of Turner Presbyterian church, was a ruling elder, clerk of the session and superintendent of Sunday school for thirty years. His wife, the former Miss Mattie Lawing, died in 1952.
Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Parks McCorkie of the county; Mrs. Russell Scott of Gastonia; Mrs. Bruce Funerburk and Mrs. A. B. Harrington of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Montgomery of the county and Mrs. W. W. Crump of Mt. Holly; and seven grandaughters.

Mrs. Sarah Roxanna Belk, 72, who died at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Purser, 422 East Seven-
teenth street, Monday afternoon, was buried in Oaklawn

were held at the home by Dr. R. M Andrews, pastor of
the First Methodist Protestant church, of which Mrs.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Sisk Funeral Home at Bsesemer City, N. C., by the Rev. J. R. Duncan, pastor of the O'Dell Methodist church, of Bessemer City, of which Mr. Richardson was a member. Burial will be in the cemetery at Rock Hill.

MR. HOSEA FRANK RICHARDSON, one of Chester's leading merchants, died today at noon at his home on the Lancaster road , after an illness of about one week from heart and kidney complications.
MR. RICHARDSON was a native of Union County, N.C., the son of JAMES MACE and ESTHER RICHARDSON, and was 44 years of age. He came to Chester 35 years and was engaged in textile work and later the merchantile business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, who was MISS SARAH LEVY STARNES and 4 children, MRS. J.B. ROOF, Chester, MRS. B.L. MURR, Greensboro, N.C., MR. G.J. RICHARDSON, Chester, and MR. FRANK L. Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie P. Richardson, 95 of 157 N. Harrell St. and widow of the late George W. Richardson, will be Monday at 3 p.m. in the Stouderenie Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Richardson died Saturday afternoon in Honorage Nursing Center after a long illness.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Darlington County, daughter of the late Oliver and Anna Melton Pearce. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George J. (Pauline) Brothers of Florence, and Mrs. Donald (Georgia) Varrell of Rye, N.H., and Mrs. J.O. (Zelma) Howell of Summerville, S.C. one son, Willard W. Richardson of Norfolk VA. And two brothers J.O. Pearce of Florence, and Frank Pearce of Charlotte, N.C. and ten grandchildren, and twenty four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Camden (special) - Mrs. Nannie Ellis Twitty, 87, widow of the late Andrew Twitty, died at 11:20 Tuesday night at the residence of her son, where she had made her home for several years.
She had been ill two weeks.
Born in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Reeves Ellis, she was a member of the Mavern Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, B. L. Twitty of Camden; two daughters, Mrs. Harry L. Griffin of Columbia and Mrs. W. L. Carnes of Lancaster; one brother, Sidney Ellis of Camden; 24 grand children and 64 great grand children.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Malvern Hill Bpatist Church at 11 a. m. Thursday by the Rev. J. E. Zachary, the Rev. Paul Becher and the Rev. Wayne Lavan. Interment will be in the family plot of Bethany (Westville) Baptist Church Cemetery.

Funeral services for Andrew Jackson Twitty, 57, farmer of Kershaw county, who died Sturday at the Columbia hospital after a long illness, will be held at 11 o'clock this morning at Bethany Baptist church in Kershaw county, of which he was a member, conducted by the Rev. P. E. Blackman. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
A highly respected citizen in the community, news of Mr. Twitty's death has caused much sorrow.

Camden, Feb. 27-(Special)-Elisha T. Ellis, 66, a farmer of the Malvin Hill community, died at the Camden hospital after a few hours illness at 1:25 p.m. Sunday. He was born in Lancaster county, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andy Ellis.
Funeral services will be held from Hickory Head Baptist church near Westville at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning with the Rev. Mathew Rabon officiating.
Three sons, Judson Ellis of Rock Hill, Harry and Henry Ellis of Camden; one daughter, Miss Jessie Ellis of Camden; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Twitty of Rockingham, and a brother Sid Ellis of Camden, survive.

Research Notes: Death Certificate says she was buried at Fork Hill. There is no grave marker. The
twins she gave birth to are also buried there. It is said that some markers were
destroyed when part of the cemetery was moved when the road came through.
Some may not have had stones. Church records burned in 1933 fire. ³⁵

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dora Mahaffey Reeves; four sons, Perry, J. C., James, and Elmer Reeves, all of Kershaw; four daughters, Mrs. Zelotes Carter of Harrtsville, Mrs. J. B. McManus of Lancaster, and Mrs. Eugene McManus and Mrs. Wilburn Adams of Kershaw; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, George Reeves of Kershaw, and one sister, Mrs. Duff Mackey of Kershaw.
Funeral services will conducted at 4 p.m. Monday from the Flint Ridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy Neal, the Rev. Heath Carnes, the Rev. W. C. Pate, and the Rev. S. R. Harding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Diaze Reeves, son of J. C. Reeves, died at his home in the Flint Ridge Section from the effects of a blow on the head. Mr. Reeves was about 34 years old and left a wife and two children.

The blow spoken of in the obit was from Charlie Lowery, his nephew, who accidentally hit him in the head with a board which had a couple nails in it.

Death certificate said he died September 9, 1920. Must have been date of reporting. Cannot have logically been then if the obit was posted August 1920. DC said burial was Aug. 10, so they must have meant August 9. ²
