General Notes: Mrs. Shirley Mae Morton Joiner, 72, of Charlotte died at her residence on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006.

A native of Charlotte, Shirley was born August 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Franklin and Ellie Reid Morton.

Shirley was a member of Enderly Park Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved animals and especially her dogs.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Joiner was preceded in death by her grandson, Jerry Wayne Wilson, Jr. and grandson-in-law Stephen Loren Delaney.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Joseph Louis Joiner, Sr.; daughters, Lou Ann Joiner Wilson and Terry Lee Brown, both of Charlotte; sons, Joseph Louis Joiner, Jr. of Seneca, S.C., and Robert Morton Joiner of Mt. Holly; grandsons, Jesse Franklin Wilson and Robbie A. Joiner; granddaughters, Misty Hope Delaney, Michelle Lee Efird and Melissa Lynn Joiner. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Mykala Lee Smalley and Jacob and Issac Joiner.

Funeral service for Mrs. Joiner was held in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday evening.

Shirley married Joseph Louis Joiner Sr. . Joseph was born on January 2, 1927 in Winston Salem, North Caorlina, died on August 19, 2007 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina, at age 80, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte, North Carolina.

General Notes: Mr. Joiner, 80, of Charlotte died at his residence on Sunday, August 19, 2007.
He was born January 2, 1927 in Winston Salem son of the late Louis and Fannie Shepherd Joiner.
A US Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Joiner was also a past member of American Legion Post #380. He was retired from Washburn Graphics and enjoyed fishing, boxing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents Mr. Joiner was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Mae Joiner; grandson, Jerry Wayne Wilson, Jr. and grandson-in-law, Stephen Loren Delaney.
Survivors include his daughters, Lou Ann Joiner Wilson of Charlotte and Terry Lee Brown of Lake Wylie, SC; sons, Joseph Louis Joiner, Jr. of Seneca, SC and Robert Morton Joiner of Mt. Holly; brother, Robert W. Joiner of Charlotte; grandsons, Jesse Franklin Wilson, Robbie, Jacob and Issac Joiner; granddaughters, Misty Hope Delaney, Michelle Lee Efird and Melissa Lynn Joiner. Also surviving is his great granddaughter Mykala Lee Smalley.
Funeral service for Mr. Joiner will be held in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington on Thursday, August 23, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors provide by the US Navy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, evening August 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and following the interment at Oakdale Baptist Church, 6440 Pleasant Grove Rd., Charlotte, NC

Lynn McKenzie, 24 died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Lake Wateree
on Sunday, March 8, 1998. He was born April 4, 1973, a son of Gerald Young McKenzie
and Emily Reeves McKenzie. He was the husband of Joann Westergard McKenzie. He is
also survived by a son, Gerald Corey McKenzie, a daughter, Ashley Marie McKenzie, a
brother Scott McKenzie, a sister, Tina Baker, his grandparents, Harry and Roseanna
McKenzie. Corey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ira and Mary
Reeves, and a brother, Harry D. McKinzie.

Clarence Ellis, 5, of Lancaster

LANCASTER, (Special) - Clarence Ezzell* Ellis, 5, died Saturday morning at his home after a long illness.

He was born in Lancaster County, a son of Albertus C. and Kathleen Lowery Ellis.

Survivors include his parents, two brother, Charles Stone and Albert Ellis, the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nettie Lowery, and the paternal grandfather, Will Ellis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 Sunday afternoon from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fork Hill Cemetery.

The body will be at the church at 3:30.
